I found a really interesting scripture by TianRen Ancient Buddha (天然古佛) in a chapter of The Chronicles of Heavenly Buddha Monastery (天佛院遊記,

Faith means to believe with your whole heart—believing in a higher truth, a greater power, or a path that leads to what is good and right. Right faith is this—if you choose not to believe, then let it be. But once you do believe, you must not doubt.

From the tiniest seed grows the tallest tree. In the same way, even the smallest seedling of goodness holds great promise. This is the power of the “sprout of goodness.” Though it may seem small or easy to miss, it carries within it the strength to grow, to bloom, and to bless the world. One kind thought is enough to plant the seedling—and from that moment, goodness begins.
